The longer answer.
Google search and AI answers reward different shapes of content. Google can rank a 2,000-word page that gets to the point in paragraph twelve. An answer engine pulls the passage it can quote — if no passage on your page directly answers the question in a self-contained way, there's nothing for it to lift, and it lifts from a competitor instead.
Consistency is the quiet killer. When your Google listing says one set of hours, Yelp says another, and your site says nothing, an AI engine doesn't pick one — it hedges, or it skips you for a business whose facts agree everywhere. An afternoon of cleanup across listings often does more for AI visibility than a month of new content.
